Hooray, hooray! TheatreworksUSA is making a brand-new musical (that is a play all jumbled together with singing and dancing, I believe). And what do you know! It's all about me, Junie B. Jones! (The B stands for Beatrice, only I do not like Beatrice. I just like B and that's all.)

This is the bestest musical ever, I tell you! It's got loads of funny songs, and it's based on a bunch of books this lady, Barbara Park, wrote about me and the things I do in first grade.

One evening, after thinking it over for some time, Harold decided to go for a walk in the moonlight.” So begins Harold and the Purple Crayon, the first of seven delightful picture books by Crockett Johnson, following the zany adventures of an inventive young boy. As it turned out, there wasn’t any moon that night nor was there a path to walk on, so Harold simply drew them. And thus his journey began. Resourceful and brave, Harold creates the world he wants to explore, using nothing more than a big purple crayon and his sky’s the-limit imagination. Enchantment Theatre’s production will take your school and family audiences on a wild ride as Harold jets to Mars (shooting stars, space ships!), joins a circus (he walks a tightrope!) and meets a king in an enchanted garden (of course, there’s a dragon). The “Harold” books have captivated families for more than fifty years, celebrating the imagination of children and the unique way they see the world. That’s why Enchantment, one of America’s most innovative producers of original theater works for children and families, has adapted these wonderful stories for the stage as its 2009-2011 national touring production. Using all the elements of its signature style, which combines life-size puppets, masks, magic and music, Enchantment’s production will delight and amaze your audiences, from children starting at Harold’s age, all the way up to grandparents — anyone, in fact, whose heart is young and adventurous.

Ellis Island... Gateway to a Dream is a musical journey that follows a group of immigrants during their time on the Island. Their experiences are typical of the many thousands who came to America in the early 1900's. From the excitement and delight of a young woman who proclaims that, in this land she, too, can "Run A Machine" to the humorous confusion of an interviewer who cannot pronounce an immigrant's name, among many other scenes, their stories are varied and filled with wonder.

During the chilly winter of 1666 we find Hester Prynne living in the Massachusetts Bay Colony with her only child. Scorned by her adulterous history, Hester bears the punishment of a scarlet red “A” emblazoned on her chest. Just beyond Hester’s daily cloud creeps her husband, long believed dead, waiting to seek his revenge on Hester as well as the father of her child. Will his murderous plot succeed? A kiss, evil, nature, the scarlet letter, and the punishing scaffold bring Nathaniel Hawthorne’s masterpiece to life with vibrancy. Come experience the conflict between human emotion and human intellect. It will not be forgotten.
