Performing Arts Initiative Mini-Grants

To promote performing arts experiences for students, the Children's Theatre Foundation has established a mini-grant program. The purpose of this grant is to provide seed money for student-performed productions. One-hundred and fifty dollars ($150) will be available for each of the CTF school sponsors listed below:

Mansfield City
St. Peters
Discovery School
Crestview
Lucas
Ontario
Shelby City
Clear Fork Valley
Lexington
Madison
Plymouth

Specific Requirements of the Performing Arts Initiative Grant include:

1. Information and application forms will be sent to District Coordinators of Gifted Services for distribution to schools.

2. The District Coordinators will select the one most deserving grant proposal from their district and submit it to CTF.

3. Your school's production must be presented during the school year in which the grant is awarded.

Children's Theatre Foundation Scholarship

Students interested in applying for this scholarship must:

- have declared a major in performing arts
- be a Junior or Senior in college
- be a graduate from one of the following Richland County High Schools:

Mansfield Senior High School
Shelby High School
St. Peters High School
Clear Fork High School
Crestview High School
Ontario High School
Lexington High School
Lucas High School
Madison Comprehensive High School
Plymouth High School

Scholarship award winners will be selected by the scholarship committee of the Richland County Foundation based on the committee's criteria:

Since this award is intended to recognize ability, achievement, and leadership qualities in the performing arts applicants, the award shall be based on these criteria without regard for financial need; financial need may be used as a selection criterion only for the purpose of breaking a tie between two otherwise equally qualified candidates.

2002/2003 Scholarship Recipient:
Jenny Barber
Jenny graduated from Mansfield Christian and was a student at the Richland Academy. She is currently a student at the University of Michigan and is a music theatre major. She performed in Renaissance productions throughout her high school life and has recently been accepted as a member of the Wichita, Kansas, Repertory Company.
